Poem #5

Screams of anguish never heard
as they fall upon deaf ears
The pain of a lifetime never felt
through the sorrow never shared
Timeless guilt rips the soul
never to mend whole again
Waves come crashing on a distant beach
battering the edge of my mind
like the gull, my emotion soars
on the troubled wind of time
the broken mirror reflects
slivers of troubled souls
a smile or frown,
laugh or cry,
for it doesn’t matter
in the end we all die.
